Environmental Activities
The Centre has an excellent range of structured practical activities for all ages. These include pond dipping,
fresh water ecology, woodland ecology, habitat management and map making. Formal and informal education is provided
for schools, colleges and Community groups.
Special events such as moth evenings, badger watching,
toad watching, fungus forays, botany walks, dragonfly stalking and bird watching are also
held at the Centre. Many of these activities are organised by The Friends group.
Family Countryside Activity Days are organised during the
school holidays. A whole range of habitats can be explored and activities include pond dipping,
bird watching, building shelters and map trails.
Excellent facilities and staffing support are
provided. The Centre provides
marvellous opportunities to reinforce many aspects of the National Curriculum
topics. A newsletter for schools, colleges and
universities is published twice a year.
